The copper sheet metal is raised with silver smithing hammers, pounded, folded from behind, forcing
the metal into the desired form. Colorful patinas are a strong design feature in Harper's work. Chemical applications,
together with heat, produce varied surface colors. The finished artwork is sealed, eliminating the usual metal maintenance.
From a high polished surface to a surface darkened by heat application, the variations seem to be endless.
